$1.4 million in funding awarded to mental health initiatives across Nova Scotia

October 2, 2024 – The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is awarding $1.4 million to 71 community-based mental health projects in the second round of the 2024-25 Community Grant funding cycle. This funding allows organizations across the province to deliver essential services, supports, and education relating to mental health and wellness, mental illnesses, and addictions.

Anxious Creations combines creativity and mental health at local markets along Nova Scotia’s South Shore

July 19, 2024 - Vicky Lamb is the maker behind Anxious Creations, a small business selling handmade jewelry and knitwear at markets along the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Her own experience with anxiety and depression motivates her to donate 10% of sales each month to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.

This funding enables organizations across the province to deliver crucial services, supports, and education relating to mental health and wellness, mental illnesses, and addictions.

Annual RBC Evergreen Gala raises over $300,000 for mental health in Nova Scotia

The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia announces over $300,000 raised through its signature RBC Evergreen Gala last Saturday. A batch of President and CEO Starr Cunningham’s shortbread cookies was auctioned off and led to a winning bid of $10,000. A second batch was requested and secured an additional $5,000. Funds raised will support programming in mental health, mental illness, and addictions throughout the province.
