Who We Are
We are Nova Scotia’s only health foundation dedicated exclusively to funding mental health and addictions support.

What We Do
How We Help
We don’t tell communities what they need, they tell us. We invest in programs designed by communities, for communities, mobilizing local support that reflects Nova Scotia’s realities, people, cultures and places.

Community Report
Our Community Report highlights our impact, celebrates community connections, and shows how donor support strengthens mental health across Nova Scotia.

“How will we ever thank you for all the support you have given to Bright Smiles Antigonish over the past few years. Your support has helped us change the lives of many people, allowing them to open their mouths in public, allowing them to smile, allowing them to go for job interviews they weren’t comfortable going to before, and changing their overall self-esteem. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
— Clarence Deyoung, Bright Smiles Antigonish Treasurer
Our Events
Every year the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia holds several charitable events to benefit mental health programs and services in communities throughout the province. From gala dinners to inspiring keynote speakers, you can support the work of the Foundation by participating in our events.
Let’s Keep Talking
Let’s Keep Talking, presented by Bell Let’s Talk, is an annual public event created to educate, inspire and celebrate the achievements of outstanding Nova Scotians who either live with mental illness or addiction or support those who do.

RBC Holiday Black Tie Gala
The RBC Holiday Black Tie Gala is our signature, elegant event that celebrates community and compassion while raising funds for mental health and addictions initiatives across the province.
Message of Kindness
Compassion and empathy are cornerstones of supporting people along their mental health journey. Sometimes a simple Message of Kindness can spark hope, light, and connection in someone’s life.

Body Movin’
Body Movin’ is a community-wide campaign where Nova Scotians of all ages and abilities move their bodies every day for the month of February to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
