Finding Purpose Through Adsum House’s PeerWorks Program

We were pleased to attend Adsum House’s Open House last week at The Sunflower – a beautiful, affordable, and environmentally sustainable complex of 25 housing units and a community building where programming is delivered.

Some of the residents may participate in PeerWorks, a project funded through our Community Grants. PeerWorks offers work training, the opportunity to gain experience and improve skills, wellbeing, and confidence. Participants say having structure in their days, a place to go where they can participate in meaningful activities and give back to their community, contributes to their mental and physical health and to maintaining their stable housing.

“From the very beginning, the support, structure, understanding, and resources provided by ADSUM gave me something I desperately needed: the opportunity to move forward without feeling overwhelmed by the circumstances around me. The program helped me develop greater clarity, confidence, and resilience while providing me with the tools necessary to work toward a more secure future.” – PeerWorks participant
