For more than 30 years, Shannex has provided compassionate care and service to Nova Scotians who often face complex health conditions including mental illness. During that time, they have seen firsthand the positive effects of programs supported by the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, like music therapy, pet therapy, and peer support. And through their longstanding support of the Shannex Holiday Luncheon they have been able to make a real difference in the mental health of all Nova Scotians.
This year, Shannex is the Hospitality Sponsor for the 29th Festival of Trees where the organization’s commitment to service excellence is a perfect match the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia’s brand new gourmet food and wine delivery.
“We can always count on our partners at Shannex to come to the table with support for Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction, and 2020 is no exception,” says Starr Cunningham, Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia President & CEO. “The event may look a little different this year, yet Shannex continues to bring the same superb commitment to our cause.”
Shannex’s philanthropic spirit also extends to its residents. Earlier this year, Parkland at the Gardens resident, Maureen Banyard, held a Music for Mental Health event that raised more than $20,000 thanks to matching by the company. This year, Maureen and the other residents at Parkland at the Gardens are fundraising again as well as working together to contribute a beautifully decorated tree to the Forest of Trees event.
Shannex is proud to be a leader in advocating for, and investing in, the mental health of all Nova Scotians.
