MONTHLY GIVING

“Being a monthly donor is my way of being able to give a hug to my friends, without them having to ask for it.”

When you become a monthly donor, you give the gift of hope. By joining Team Hope, our Monthly Donors Club, you will help Nova Scotians across diverse communities who are living with mental illness and addition find supports through the many initiatives and programs we fund. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Help lines

  • Peer support sessions

  • Counselling sessions

  • Adventure-based therapy

  • Art and music therapy

  • Recovery and integration projects

  • Youth suicide prevention

Monthly giving sustains our ability to help organizations, community groups, and service providers deliver crucial programming that supports the mental wellness of Nova Scotians. In addition to an annual tax receipt and letter from our President & CEO, you will receive:

  • A welcome package

  • Team Hope-exclusive updates via email

  • Recognition in our annual Community Report

  • The knowledge that you are improving the mental health of all Nova Scotians

Monthly Donor Spotlight

Giving back to the community has always been important to Deborah Windsor and her late husband, Howard.

When they started donating to the Foundation over a decade ago, they felt there was a critical need for increased mental health supports in Nova Scotia.

“Struggles with mental health impact everyone, either directly or indirectly,” says Deborah. “No one is immune. It’s important to make sure people in our community are connected to the supports they need to take care of their mental health.”

The Windsors’ contributions began as annual donations but after a few years they transitioned to monthly giving. The Foundation’s commitment to funding a range of supports — from counselling services to nature therapies and peer support groups — appealed to the community-minded family.

“We like the fact that the Foundation is community-based and that it looks broadly at solutions,” says Deborah. “Supporting mental health should be recognized as a community need, especially in terms of building a healthier society.”

Mental health touches us all, with mental illness and addiction affecting 1 in 4 Nova Scotians annually. Whatever your reason for giving, know that with your support, we can make a difference in our communities and in the lives of the countless Nova Scotians who are struggling – together, we can provide hope and change the way people think.
