As Cermaq Canada looks to grow its salmon farming operations within Nova Scotia, it is committed to adding value to the communities in which it lives and works. Cermaq believes in support programs and services that support the health of our greater community including those living with mental illness and addiction, and their loved ones.
“We are pleased to welcome Cermaq to our growing list of sponsors and partners who are committed to enhancing the mental health of our communities,” says Starr Cunningham, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. “Cermaq’s generosity is making a difference in the lives of those living with mental illness and addiction, and circle of support.”
This is Cermaq’s inaugural year as RBC Black Tie Gala Technology Sponsor for the Compass Group Canada Festival of Trees. Cermaq’s brand new office is based in Guysborough County helping the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia expand its reach and touch points along the Eastern Shore of the province.
“We are excited to be part of the Compass Group Canada Festival of Trees as the event provides critical funds for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia who provide financial support to vital services for families, individuals and communities across the province,” says Vicki Savoie, Sustainable Development Directors, East Coast for Cermaq Canada. “We believe in supporting the health and welfare of communities in which we live and work. Mental illness impacts so many families, and knowing help is there when you need it is essential. We’re happy to be able to support such a worthwhile and important organization.”
The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is grateful for the generosity of Cermaq and looks forward to many more years as partners in the drive to provide hope and eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction.
