The NSLC Community Connections Grant will fund mental health supports for those experiencing food or housing insecurity

July 9, 2024

Thanks to donations from team members, shoppers, and suppliers during the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation’s (NSLC) 2023 Holiday Campaign, the Foundation received a gift of over $150,000 to establish the NSLC Community Connections Grant.

This grant recognizes the many NSLC team members who volunteer and fundraise to ensure the most vulnerable in our communities are supported.

Over a three-year period, the NSLC Community Connections Grant aims to fund programs and initiatives that provide mental health supports to equity deserving groups in each region of the province. In keeping with the NSLC’s priority to invest in community wellbeing, special consideration will be given to programs that support people facing food insecurity and housing insecurity.

“Our team is the heart of our organization, giving their time and talent through fundraising and volunteerism to ensure the most vulnerable in our communities are supported,” shares Marley MacDonald, Director of Responsibility and Sustainability, NSLC. “In the spirit of their generosity, we are proud to support the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia and dedicate this grant to our team.”

Organizations and community groups interested in the NSLC Community Connections Grant can apply for funding through the Foundation’s Community Grant program, which is currently accepting funding applications until August 15, 2024.
