Toronto – Manulife has announced a donation of $100,000 to support communities in Nova Scotia and the health and well-being of those affected by the tragedy of April 18 and 19. The donation has two components:
$50,000 will support the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia to ensure those impacted by this tragedy stay connected, access mental health programs and continue to access support while they maintain life through the isolation measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
$50,000 is being donated to the Canadian Red Cross Stronger Together Nova Scotia Fund to directly meet immediate and longer-term needs of the families and communities devastated by this event.
“We want the close-knit communities across Nova Scotia to know that we are doing what we can to support them during this trying time,” said Karen Leggett, Global Chief Marketing Officer. “We are honored to provide increased mental health access, as well as immediate and longer-term support for the families and communities impacted by this tragedy.”
