Multiple Juno Award Winner and Six-Time Platinum Selling Artist to Perform in Support of Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia’s 29th Festival of Trees Online Concert
October 15, 2020 (Dartmouth, NS) - The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is proud to announce one of Canada’s most accomplished songwriters and recognizable voices, Chantal Kreviazuk will perform as part of the charity’s new spin on the Festival of Trees presented by RBC Steele the Spotlight for Mental Health featuring Chantal Kreviazuk will stream live Saturday November 28, the culmination of the event spanning multiple weeks in November.
"Each and every one of us has experienced our share of mental health problems, issues, and crises in the past year," says Starr Cunningham, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. "This year’s Festival of Trees is about providing hope to all Nova Scotians, especially those who are struggling. We’re thrilled to have Chantal share her messages of self-love, acceptance and resiliency while raising funds for mental health initiatives in our communities."
The 29th Festival of Trees will also feature public viewings of the beloved Advocate Forest of Trees at the Doyle for two weeks in November and the Shannex Resto Festo from November 21-28 where participating eateries throughout the province donate a portion of one night’s sales to help Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction. An online auction featuring the signature cake, wreath and silent auctions from past Festivals will also take place in the lead-up to the concert.

A steadfast mental health advocate, Kreviazuk has supported numerous Canadian initiatives including Bell Let’s Talk, CMHA 100 Years, and the Imagine Film Festival. Her short film, Pretty Broken, put mood disorders on the big screen at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006, raising awareness about the reality of those living with Bipolar Disorder. On November 28th, Kreviazuk will perform an intimate, virtual concert while sharing her own connection to mental illness and addiction. The live broadcast will be rounded out with inspiring stories from Nova Scotians who've been touched by the Foundation's important work.
