Prominent Mental Health Advocate Family Joins Cast of A Different Stage of Mind

Howard, Jenna & Adam Conter added to the bill for for Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia fundraiser

Look no further than the prominent Halifax family, The Conters, to find people committed to making a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction. From advocacy to the TEMA Foundation and their ongoing contribution to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia fundraisers, the Foundation is thrilled to announce Howard, Jenna and Adam will be joining the cast for BMO Bank of Montreal A Different Stage of Mind (DSOM).

The third time’s a charm for Jenna and Adam who return to the “Different Stage'“ stage following show-stopping performances in 2014 (Adele and James Bond), 2012( Carole King) and 2010 (The Blues Brothers featuring Adam and Howard). Dr. Howard Conter has been a longtime advocate for the Foundation having been recognized with a Vision Award for Outstanding Volunteer in 2011-2012. Both Howard and Adam have also showcased their prowess as auctioneers on Foundation fundraiser stages encouraging donors to empty their pocket books for Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction.

Presented by BMO Bank of Montreal, A Different Stage of Mind is a variety show featuring Nova Scotian community leaders performing in the roles of musical stars while raising funds and eradicating the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction. Previously announced acts include CEO & Founder of Arrivals + Departures Paul LeBlanc, The First Responders led by 911 Provincial Director Hon. Dave Wilson featuring Halifax Police Superintendent Don MacLean and 911 Dispatcher Lana Grant, Royal LePage Atlantic’s Melissa Berry and Josh Kogon, and a Women’s Choir led by RBC’s Alisa Alyward (Jennifer Auld, Dr. Alexa Bagnell, Sue Bachur, Clare Champoux, Heather Conrad, Krista Dempsey, Patricia Depalma, Karen Gardiner, Dale Godsoe, Susan Grant, Kim MacDonald, Rebecca Jabbour, Sharon Resky, Karen Spaulding, Michele Trider, and Carolyn Wood). Mayor Mike Savage will also return as the much-loved host of the 17th annual fundraiser.

BMO Bank of Montreal A Different Stage of Mind will offer guests “A Vision for Mental Health” on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Halifax Convention Centre. Each group has committed to raising a minimum of $50,000 for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia in the months leading up to the event through ticket sales, fundraisers, and corporate donations. Performers will also compete for the Top Fundraiser and the highly-coveted People’s Choice Awards. Funds raised will support community initiatives throughout Nova Scotia that provide hope and eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction.
