A Visionary Showcase of Hidden Talent

The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia unveils first round of performers for A Different Stage of Mind

The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia’s vision is crystal clear. A province where our neighbours, colleagues and loved ones living with mental illness and addiction are thriving. It’s an outlook shared by more than two dozen performers who’ve committed to taking the stage at BMO Bank of Montreal A Different Stage of Mind 20/20 for 2020: A Vision for Mental Health.

Presented by BMO Bank of Montreal, A Different Stage of Mind is a variety show featuring Nova Scotia community leaders performing in the roles of musical stars. The upcoming event will offer guests “A Vision for Mental Health” on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Halifax Convention Centre. Funds raised will support community initiatives throughout Nova Scotia that provide hope and eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction.

Four acts have already been confirmed for 2020. Each group is committed to raising a minimum of $50,000 for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia in the months leading up to the event through ticket sales, fundraisers, and corporate donations. More performers will be announced within the coming weeks. The stars will also compete for the Top Fundraiser and the highly-coveted People’s Choice Awards.

“Community leaders are stepping up in a big way to make a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction,” says Starr Cunningham, Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia President & CEO. “We’re thrilled to have four acts signed on already who will bring so much energy and enthusiasm to their performance and efforts to change the way people think.”

Mayor Mike Savage will return as the much-loved, off-the-cuff emcee of the visionary showcase. The line up to date includes:
