Foundation Recruiting New Trustee

Position: BOARD OF TRUSTEES, MEMBER

Three-year term: July 2021

The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is a charity that aims to increase financial support to community initiatives throughout Nova Scotia while providing hope and eradicating stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction.

The Board meets a minimum of four times per year, plus the Annual General Meeting. Each meeting lasts approximately 90 minutes. Trustees determine strategic direction for the Foundation, provide oversight, insight and foresight, enable growth and diversification of revenue, and seek sustainable giving opportunities.

Trustees attend all Foundation events and are strongly encouraged to serve on a Committee of the Board. All Trustees are expected to be fully informed on Foundation strategy in order to effectively participate in discussions and decisions. Fiduciary responsibilities are paramount.

Is This YOU?

The Foundation is currently recruiting a volunteer to join its Board of Trustees. This volunteer should be a dynamic leader who has a true passion for changing the way people think.

As the Foundation strives to reflect Nova Scotia’s geographic diversity, a Trustee who resides outside the HRM is presently required. If you live in the Eastern, Western or Northern Zone and would like to make a positive impact on mental health in your province, we invite you to express interest.

The Foundation’s vision is to see Nova Scotians with mental illness and addiction thriving in our communities. We hope it’s a vision you share.

If you are interested in joining the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia Board of Trustees, please forward a cover letter and resume by July 2nd, 2021 to: info@mentalhealthns.ca
