Halifax, NS – On November 25th and 26th, guests at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax will be transported to silvery, sparkly winter wonderland as the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia celebrates its 25th annual Compass Group Canada Festival of Trees. Festival of Trees features the beautiful, sparkling Nova Centre & EllisDon Forest of Trees, the Shannex Holiday Luncheon (November 25th, 11:30 a.m.) and the RBC Black Tie Gala (November 26th, 7:00 p.m.)
This year, both events sold out early. With over 600 guests expected to attend each event, this namesake fundraising event is sure to be a weekend filled with magical moments in a room overflowing with generosity.
“The holiday season brings people together and this event is known for raising more than just funds. It raises hope for Nova Scotians living with mental illness and their loved ones. We look forward to seeing guests from different businesses and areas throughout the province come together to believe in the power of community,” says Starr Dobson, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
The Shannex Holiday Luncheon is an opportunity for colleagues and friends to welcome the holidays in style. The event includes the popular cake and wreath auctions and a dozen chances to win with the 12 Days of Christmas Raffle.
The RBC Black Tie Gala will be filled with fine dining, entertainment and exciting prizes. The Gala features a silent auction, live auction and three big-item raffle draws: the Touch of Gold Raffle, Santa Steele Raffle and Christmas Cash Raffle. The event ends with a dance and entertainment by the Mellotones and Reeny Smith.
This year’s theme celebrates the event’s silver anniversary; 25 years of holiday memories and fundraising for programs that aim to make a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians and their families living with mental illness. Funds raised at the Festival of Trees support mental health programs and services across the province.
The Festival of Trees is made possible by the work of countless sponsors, partners, donors, committees and volunteers. The Foundation extends gratitude to all those involved in bringing this magical event to life.
