“Models for Mental Health” is back and ready to help change the way people think!
Community volunteers Lily DeYoung and Shawna Coleman are planning to make this year’s fashion show bigger and better in hopes of raising even more money to fund Pictou County Community Grants.
Last year the inaugural consignment fashion show raised $7,000 which was used to fund three Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia grants within the county. The recipients included “Preserving our Mental Health”, an “Art Therapy Program – New Hope” and the “Stand Up, Speak Out Program” at Summer Street Industries.
This year’s show will take place at Glasgow Square on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Tickets are $20, and are available by calling Shawna Coleman at 902.396.3054 or Lily DeYoung at 902.752.4317.
Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia President and Pictou County native, Starr Dobson, will be back to emcee the popular event which will feature models from across the county sporting consignment fashions which will be available for purchase following the show.
“We are thrilled to have the support of Pictou County again,” says Dobson. “I always look forward to going home, but especially when there’s an opportunity to raise both funds and awareness for mental health in the area.”
The event will feature live entertainment, door prizes, and a few fun surprises.
