Gift Acceptance Policy

The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia seeks outright gifts and future gift commitments that are consistent with its mission: to increase financial support to community initiatives that provide hope and eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction. Donations will generally be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, organizations, government agencies or other entities without limitations—unless acceptance of gifts from a specific source is inconsistent with the organization’s beliefs, values and mission.

• The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia does not accept donations from the sale of tobacco or directly from tobacco companies.

• The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is permitted to accept donations from business, employees or customers of a business or organization that sells alcohol (ie licensed restaurants and NSLC) but does not accept donations from the direct sale of beer, wine or spirits.
