The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is proud to celebrate President & CEO Starr Cunningham, who has been named one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs for 2026.
The annual recognition celebrates leaders across Atlantic Canada who demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to their communities and industries.

Since joining the Foundation, Starr has led the organization through a period of significant growth, helping expand investments in community-based mental health and addictions programs throughout Nova Scotia. Under her leadership, the Foundation has strengthened partnerships with donors, organizations, and communities while continuing to champion compassion, connection, and hope.
Starr’s leadership is rooted in the belief that communities themselves understand their needs best. Through collaboration and a deep commitment to community impact, she continues to help build a future where every Nova Scotian has the opportunity to thrive.
