Smile cookies are back — and they’re making a difference.
Today, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia joined partners from the IWK Foundation, Tim Hortons, and Tim Hortons Foundation to officially kick off this year’s Smile Cookie campaign at the Osborne Street Tim Hortons in Dartmouth, owned and operated by Brad Smith.
The informal gathering brought together staff and supporters to celebrate the start of a week dedicated to connection, community, and giving back.

From April 27 to May 3, every Smile Cookie purchased at participating Tim Hortons locations across HRM will help support local mental health initiatives. Proceeds from the campaign will support Anchor Youth Space Nova Scotia sites in HRM through the IWK Foundation, as well as community-based mental health programs funded through the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
“Mental health support happens every day in our communities through connection, compassion, and care,” says Starr Cunningham, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. “Thanks to the transformational funding from the Smile Cookie campaign, we’re able to invest in programs that meet people where they are and help strengthen support across HRM.”
Community members can support the campaign by visiting their local Tim Hortons or by pre-ordering cookies to share with colleagues, friends, and family.
Together, we’re creating more connected, compassionate communities — one smile at a time.
