Black Mental Health Day is a health promotion day aimed at raising awareness about the adverse effects anti-Black racism has on the physical and mental health of Black communities. Launched in Toronto in March 2020, this observance draws attention to how anti-Black racism continues to impact the daily lives of Black Canadians.
There is a desire and a demand, from communities across the globe, to increase awareness and initiate action to address the impact of anti-Black racism on mental health and social well-being. You can help by supporting the Nova Scotia Brotherhood Fund, which provides financial support to Nova Scotia Health’s Brotherhood Initiative to enhance its mental health programming for Black Nova Scotia Men and their families.
