Healing Beyond Traditional Treatment

While traditional addiction recovery treatment focuses on counselling and education, women also benefit from body-based, calming, and restorative supports.

That’s why we’re proud to support The Marguerite Centre’s Holistic Healing Treatment Program, which supports women in residential addiction recovery by addressing mental health, trauma, and wellbeing together. Many women entering treatment have experienced long-term trauma, violence, and instability, which deeply affect mental health and often contribute to substance use.

The program intentionally pairs holistic healing with more intensive educational programming. Physically and emotionally regulating practices—such as yoga or somatic movement—are scheduled on the same days as challenging group work, trauma processing, or relapse-prevention sessions. This approach helps women regulate their nervous systems, manage stress, and stay engaged in their recovery.

“Yoga became one of my favorite self care activities. … It not only has helped my body, but I’m now able to meditate and breath through difficult emotions. It’s something I will continue for the rest of my life.” – participant
