We were thrilled to attend Eating Disorders Nova Scotia’s film premiere of Something to Hold Onto.
One in twelve people will be impacted by an eating disorder. Less than 30% seek help, often due to stigma and shame. While anyone can develop an eating disorder, certain groups are disproportionally impacted, including equity-deserving groups. The film’s goal is to dispel stigma and encourage people affected by disordered eating to seek help.
Something to Hold Onto focuses on the powerful relationships between EDNS’ trained Mentors and those they support (Mentees) and demystifies reaching out for help. The film highlights the power of community and connection in healing and features through the relationship between Catherine, a Peer Mentor, and Nina, her mentee.
The film is available here: Something to Hold Onto.
You can join the virtual screening of Something to Hold Onto on Monday, November 2. Following the screening, Taylor, Nina and Catherine will be on hand to share their experiences and answer your questions. Register via Eventbrite.
