Sometimes, finding a place where you feel welcomed, supported, and understood can make all the difference.
That’s why the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is proud to support 7Arts’ SPACE Program through our Community Grants Program.
Located in Greenwood, the program provides youth ages 5–24 with opportunities to explore arts, crafts, games, and other creative activities in a safe and welcoming environment. Through creative expression and shared experiences, participants are able to build confidence, reduce social isolation, and strengthen connections with others and themselves.
Thanks to donor support, more than 100 youth participated in the Include Me! program.
One parent shared the impact the program has had on their family:
“The SPACE Art Program has been such a wonderful experience for my son. It is the one day a week that I can consistently get him out of the house without stress or resistance, which in itself speaks volumes about how safe and welcoming the environment feels to him. The kindness, patience, and willingness to accommodate each child’s needs make this program truly special.”
Programs like the SPACE Program demonstrate how community-led initiatives can create meaningful opportunities for young people to connect, grow, and thrive.
At the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, we believe communities know their needs best. Through donor support, we are able to invest in programs across the province that foster connection, reduce isolation, and support mental wellness close to home.
Thank you to everyone who helps make this work possible.
Donate today to keep supporting community-led mental health initiatives.
