Turning Success into Support: Tim Moore’s New Book Gives Back to Mental Health

An inspiring new book from Canadian entrepreneur Tim Moore is doing more than sharing lessons on business success — it’s helping strengthen mental health support in our communities.

How I Made It is an accessible, practical, and timeless guide to entrepreneurship, drawn from Moore’s experience building some of Canada’s most recognized companies, including AMJ Campbell Van Lines and Premiere Suites. Part memoir, part masterclass, the book offers honest reflections on success, failure, and the resilience it takes to keep going.

A long-time supporter of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, Moore has made giving back a central part of this project. 100% of royalties from the book (plus matching dollars up to $20,000) are being donated to the Foundation.

“Mental health issues affect so many people,” says Moore. “Every family can be impacted either directly or indirectly. We shouldn’t feel we have to hide it or be ashamed by it. We need to talk openly. Everyone has issues of some sort.”

His words reflect a growing understanding: mental health touches all of us — and open, honest conversations are part of how we move forward.

Through this generous contribution, proceeds from How I Made It will help fund community-based programs that build connection, increase access to support, and strengthen mental wellness where it’s needed most.

“In sharing his story, Tim teaches us the life of an entrepreneur is anything but boring,” says Starr Cunningham, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. “His personal accounts of success, failure, and everything in between shine a light on what it takes to make it big in business — while also reminding us of the importance of connection, honesty, and support along the way.”

At its core, How I Made It is about more than entrepreneurship. It’s about perseverance, perspective, and the importance of staying grounded in what matters most — including our mental health and our willingness to talk about it.
