The Nova Scotia Brotherhood is a free program for Black men to access health care in the community to improve overall health and wellbeing. A team of health care professionals provide culturally appropriate primary medical care plus health and wellness services for men of African descent across Halifax Regional Municipality.
Through our Community Grants, we support Barbershop Talks & Reignite the Run/Walk, initiatives that create safe spaces for open and confidential conversations about mental health. Discussions are facilitated to explore themes like stigma, trauma, healing, and to normalize peer-to-peer conversations about difficult topics. The run/walk group provides an additional opportunity to foster community and build relationships, while experiencing the physical and mental health benefits of movement!
