Our Community Grants supported Sackville High School’s Ambassadors for Mental Health. Over the past year, students have been raising awareness of mental health supports and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. Working with various partners and special guests, the students have increased their own knowledge of mental health through education, music, and creativity, and shared their knowledge to spread awareness among students.
The student ambassadors identified their goal as living a Better Life, and special guests who share a purpose of living a better lives helped spread their message within SHS and to local elementary schools. Local entrepreneur tREv Clothing worked with the talented teen who created the Better Life logo to produce sweatshirts for the Better Life Ambassadors. Neon Dreams joined the students to share their songs and support student songwriting.
A common thread throughout the program is resiliency – everyone faces challenges, so it’s important to find the things that bring you joy. Whether that’s music, finding your own true purpose or helping others realize they’re not alone, it’s important to “do what makes you happy.” It’s a message we’re proud to support!
